My Daughter — April 5, 2023

ICR kicking it up

You asked
me if it was, at bedtime,
okay to leave your curtains
open
"Of course my darling,
whatever you need"

There was, earlier,
a bird
who sat himself at that window
and, scared,
she asked what to do.

I opened the curtain and
moved my face
to the bird's
and
he flew away.

She asked "why did he leave when he saw you? You're not scary."

I said "most don't want to live in truth,
They just want to feel how they do.
So instead
be one of the willing
to let the light
into the room."
