There was this
one time
and unfortunately only for me,
as most of my things go,
you found me.
Which sounds
peculiar
to say being that I was at your
apartment and I had your key.
But that day,
though it may not be for you,
was the day I knew I'd ask you
to marry me.
The range hood light
lit the kitchen
I laid in and
you walked in.

My daughter left me today
to her mom's
screaming not to let her go.
I want it known.
I have never.
Will never.
Not ever let her go.
But this was her moms day
so she did go.

There was a cup in my hand and a wine glass close by.
"I had all your vodka too.
you can kill me if
you want to."
