The Threat of AutonomyFor Better or Verse — Poetry Month 2023 et al.·FollowApr 28, 2021--ListenSharePJR — April 26, 2021We’ve come to a pointWhere we have ceased toMatter and she’s the oneWith more power than body. But tip to tail, you’re stillThe only bridge I want toCross. The morning coffeeI’d drink twice, unmilked.Watching you feed herMakes me hungry forThe moment where sheWill herself. And thenShe woke us up, notMeaning anything, butSpecifically, and intentional.Purposeful and thenI thought of the myriad waysour lives and futures may unfoldBut myriad does not do justiceTo the urgent call that humbles us.
